Today and tomorrow in Moscow, consultations will be held among representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of CSTO member states on the establishment of a unified system for technical protection of railways in CSTO member states.
The Belarusian Railway is represented by the Head of the General Technical Service, Igor Viktorovich Androsov.
From the source:
On the subject of the consultations: since the Central Military Communications Directorate of Russia (VOSO) has been invited, the talks will presumably concern coordinating troop transfers on a larger scale than before and under faster “procedures”, as the Belarusian Railway currently has some difficulties, one of them being the drawing up of troop train timetables.
As for the Zapad-2021 joint exercises held in August–September, the number of Russian Armed Forces personnel involved was greatly understated: officially it was 2,500, but the troop trains had 100 passenger cars with 54 seats each, plus guards in boxcars (cars fitted to carry people), which gives at least 5,400 personnel. That excludes the special service trains that also carried Russian Armed Forces personnel to Belarus. According to operations staff at Minsk-Sortirovochny and Orsha-Central stations, all passenger cars of the arriving troop trains were full.
